Weekend fun

Hello Everyone,

On Sunday my host family hosted a baby shower for my host mother's daughter (Evelyn)! She is due this week. There were about 25-30 guests here, and Toshe (Japanese student) and I helped to set up the decorations, and chairs. We played all sorts of games like Bingo but with baby things instead of numbers on the cards, and we played this game that had the word 'baby' in all these different languages and we had to guess which one was in which language. It was pretty hard! Then we played a trivia game that had trivia about the how much the largest weighing baby was (22lbs!), and the largest amount of children had by one women (69!!!)! It was really fun and I won that round of games and received this little hershey kiss that had little wings glued to it, a head and a halo. It was so cute! I haven't eaten it yet because I thought it was so cute! We also got this AMAZING cake that was cinnamon flavour, a delicious sandwich and some fruit salad! On Sunday morning I also met up with a few girls from our group to go out to breakfast, we went to a buffet breakfast which was pretty good. Yesterday was a busy day of classes all day, but in the evening Clive and Janey (Our Trip leaders/professors) held an event so we could get to know the Guatemalan students studying English in Antigua. It was really fun!! On sunday night as well there was a religious procession that went by our house at night. They were celebrating the end of the Christmas time. . . and we also got to see some fireworks from our backyard. There are always fireworks going off around here, sometimes it scares me haha! Yesterday I had a lot of fun doing my Spanish homework on the roof of the Spanish School! It was beautiful and I was watching the sunset while doing my homework. It's been a great first week here in Antigua and I am getting more accustomed to living here. Oh I am attaching a picture of my house from the outside, its the little blue house! Take care everyone! I hope you are all good!
